BA Psychological Science | Grad. Dip. Gestalt Therapy
With over 15 years of experience in working with Family Constellations, Mel is still as passionate about this modality today as she was when she first started out with this work. After learning from multiple teachers and completing further study, Mel has developed her own unique approach to constellations, which addresses deeply engrained cultural and family dynamics, voices important truths and helps participants to reconnect with their ancestral strength.
Additionally to her family constellation facilitation, she has also studied psychology and psychotherapy, which informs her
private practice focus on overcoming trauma, addiction, and couples' issues. She is also passionate about using her lived experience to bridge linguistic and cultural divides.
In her own time, Melanie is nature lover, gardener and mother of 3 boys. She was born and raised in Germany/Bavaria, but has been living in Australia since 2006, enabling her to relate to the challenges of immigrating, bilingualism, and blended families.
While my work has become a fusion of relational, scientific and intuitive therapy modalities, the heart and soul of my work rests within the systemic therapy approach. More specifically, a person is but one element of a much larger family and societal field. With this in mind, my curiosity always steers me towards understanding the purpose and meaning of people’s behaviours and actions within the context of the larger family field.
My expertise lies within addiction issues and trauma. I have a deep compassion for the human experience, and I feel incredibly privileged to witness and support others on their journey home to themselves.
My focus is to help individuals heal themselves, and become aware of their own inner strengths.

Addressing Unconscious Patterns: By bringing subconscious family dynamics to light, it helps in identifying and breaking free from repetitive behaviours and emotional struggles rooted in family history.
Healing Family Trauma: This therapy allows exploration and resolution of unresolved family conflicts or traumas, promoting emotional healing and closure.
Enhancing Relationships: It offers new perspectives on family relationships, fostering empathy, better communication, and healthier interactions among family members.
Promoting Personal Growth: Through understanding family dynamics, it encourages self-awareness, resilience, and emotional growth, improving overall mental well-being.
Breaking Generational Patterns: It assists in recognising and altering detrimental generational patterns, paving the way for healthier behaviours for present and future generations.
Cultivating Empathy: By understanding family members' experiences, it nurtures empathy for oneself and others, strengthening emotional connections within the family unit.
I respectfully acknowledge the people of the Yugambeh language region, the traditional owners of the land on which we meet, I live and work on.
I pay my respect to their elders past and present, and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples here today.
Always was, is and will be Aboriginal land.
